Report on Lecture on HPV and Cancer Awareness

On 13th August 2026, a medical lecture on HPV Awareness, Cervical Cancer Prevention and HPV Vaccination was organized at Fairfield Hall, Lucknow Christian Degree College, Lucknow, under the Anandi Maa – Ek Jeevan Bacho Abhiyaan Evam Cancer Mukt Bharat Yatra 2026–27.

The programme was conducted by Dr. Rohan Benjamin, Assistant Professor, Department of Commerce. The programme formally commenced with a prayer by Dr. Manisha Prasad, Assistant Professor, Department of Chemistry, followed by the reading of the Bible by Dr. Vivek Joseph, Head, Department of Mathematics.

The Chief Guest and medical expert, Dr. Shashank Chaudhary, Specialist Doctor, Max Hospital, Gomti Nagar, Lucknow, was welcomed and felicitated by the Manager of the College, Dr. R. K. Singh, with a bouquet and memento.

The Manager was welcomed by the Officiating Principal, Dr. Esha V. Lal. The Principal was welcomed by Abhishek Singh Yadav, while Prof. Rishi Kumar Mishra, Proctor, was welcomed by Dr. Nomita Gowan, Head, Department of Economics.

On the occasion, Rehana Hooda, Secretary, Reliance Club Waris, was also felicitated by the Principal and the Manager for her work towards environmental conservation. The Chairperson of the programme highlighted the objectives and significance of the initiative undertaken by Smt.

The Programme Coordinator, Dr. Alpana Bajpai, Department of History, introduced the Chief Guest. The ceremonial lamp was lit by the Chief Guest, Manager, Principal, Proctor and faculty members. The lamp-lighting ceremony was coordinated by Ms. Soni Kumari, Assistant Professor, Department of Hindi, and Mr. Satyam Singh, Assistant Professor, Department of Political Science.

Thereafter, Dr. Shashank Chaudhary delivered a medical lecture on HPV infection, cervical cancer, preventive measures and HPV vaccination. He also addressed various misconceptions related to cancer and answered questions raised by the students. Dr. Chaudhary emphasized that the dream of a “Cancer-Free India” can be achieved only when every section of society becomes aware of cancer risks, preventive measures and the importance of timely screening. He also stressed the need for conducting such awareness programmes regularly in educational institutions.

The lecture aimed to increase awareness among youth and women regarding cancer, early symptoms, HPV, cervical cancer prevention, timely medical consultation and screening. The session proved valuable in creating awareness among students regarding cancer prevention and HPV-related health concerns.

Report on Cancer-Free India Oath-Taking Programme

As part of the Anandi Maa – Ek Jeevan Bacho Abhiyaan Evam Cancer Mukt Bharat Yatra 2026–27, an oath-taking programme was organized at Lucknow Christian Degree College, Lucknow, on 13th August 2026. The oath-taking programme was conducted by Abhishek Singh Yadav, Assistant Professor, Department of Commerce, under the Cancer-Free India initiative.

Students, faculty members and other members present at the programme participated in the oath-taking ceremony with enthusiasm.

The participants pledged to contribute towards creating awareness about cancer prevention and to encourage healthy practices, timely health screening and appropriate medical consultation. The participants also pledged to spread awareness regarding HPV vaccination, prevention of cervical cancer and the importance of early detection and timely medical consultation.

The programme emphasized that creating a cancer-free society requires collective participation and continuous awareness.

The students and faculty members were encouraged to convey the message of cancer prevention and healthy living to their families and the wider community.

The oath-taking programme served as an important part of the Cancer Awareness Programme and strengthened the commitment of the participants towards the goal of a “Cancer-Free India.”

Report on Cancer Awareness Rally

As part of the Anandi Maa – Ek Jeevan Bacho Abhiyaan Evam Cancer Mukt Bharat Yatra 2026–27, a Cancer Awareness Rally was organized by Lucknow Christian Degree College, Lucknow, on 13th August 2026. The rally was conducted under the guidance of Mr. Abhishek Gupta, Dr. Manoj Sharma, Ms. Soni Kumari, and Dr. Himanshu Singh.

Students and faculty members of the College participated enthusiastically in the rally and actively contributed to spreading awareness about cancer prevention and HPV vaccination.

The rally aimed to convey important messages regarding HPV vaccination, cancer prevention, early detection, timely screening, and medical consultation to the general public. The participants made efforts to spread the message of “Cancer-Free India” and encourage people to become more aware of preventive healthcare practices. The rally provided an opportunity for students to take the message of the awareness programme beyond the college campus and communicate it to the wider community.

It highlighted the importance of collective participation in creating awareness about cancer prevention and promoting healthy practices.

The enthusiastic participation of the students and the guidance of the faculty members made the awareness rally successful and meaningful.

The rally contributed significantly to creating awareness among the public regarding cancer prevention and protection against HPV as part of the Anandi Maa – Ek Jeevan Bacho Abhiyaan Evam Cancer Mukt Bharat Yatra 2026–27.
